Mexico Oaxaca La Cañada

This is what arrived in my mailbox on Friday from the folks at Blue Bottle — and what a treat. This has to be a fan-favorite for me. The description card reads:
DELICIOUSNESS: Baked apple, bittersweet chocolate, toasted sesame
This year’s harvest from Oaxaca’s mountainous Cañada region is irresistible. The farmer-group behind it, Unión de Productores Las Flores, combines the modest yields of smallholder farmers who home-process Bourbon, Typica, and other heirloom cultivars. The result is one we’ve celebrated in years past: An unabashedly sweet coffee that also happens to be organic. With notes of chicory and caramel, we think of it as a bridge between novices and seasoned drinkers—a classic whose deliciousness makes it impossible to ignore.
It has that thicker fullness that I just love in a cup of coffee. I am not sure if I had enjoyed the other Mexican coffees that have passed by, but I will definitely keep an eye next time.
